From Chaos to Calm

If you are like most of us, you have a space in your house (or maybe many!) that collects cords. With all of our technology purchases and a complementary cord provided with each purchase, those cords accumulate!
I have my own cord space in my bedroom bedside table and I don’t share my cords! Downstairs in our hallway bookshelf, we have a drawer filled with miscellaneous items and to be honest, I leave it for my husband and son. It quickly becomes a disaster, and when I periodically open that drawer, I quickly close it because it stresses me out!
We have an upcoming trip, and there is a need for charging bricks and cords. So I decided to dive into that drawer and get it under control. I enlisted my husband and son for moral support (and to verify some cords that I didn’t recognize), and I slowly brought order to the chaos. Voila!
We often get overwhelmed by an area in our house that is a mess or overflowing. What is yours? So, how do we get past the overwhelm? For me, the deadline of our trip made it more urgent and when my husband mentioned it, I felt motivated to start. It was not nearly as complicated or time consuming as I anticipated. I recommend setting a timer the next time you have an activity or chore you need to do and see how long it takes to complete it! You might be surprised.
